Studio 1647 - Why No Disks ???
Just recieved my Studio 1674. I noticed other than a drivers disk, there are NO disks in the box.
I will use this to record music (musician) and would like to remove all the unnessasay programs.
I usually like to do a fresh install, leaving out all unnesessary stuff. How can I go about this now, with no disks to reinstall.
Or, if this should run into problems were a new install are needed, how does one go about this ?
Also, being new to Win7 I'm not quite sure what is Win7, and what is Dell. Such as the 'Dock".
Is this native win7 or a Dell app ???

Btw, very nice laptop. But the finger print magnet was not a good idea.

New systems do not come with CDs/DVDs in most cases -- Microsoft wants it that way. To prepare a Windows CD, see

I have similar question.
I have Studio XPS bought with Vista ultimate, eligible for free update to Windows 7. I have updated to Windows 7 with 2 disks I got from Dell:
1) Dell Windows 7 Upgrade Assistant and
2) Windows 7 Upgrade Option Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate.
Will this be enough if ever I have to restore system (Windows 7)?
