Studio XPS 1645: Metal Frame discharge electric shock
I recently bought this computer with many extras. In less than a week of use, today I noticed that the metal frame around produces electric shocks. There is any test to know if this problem come from electric static?

I noticed too, that this happen only when the laptop has plugin the electric cable source.

It's probably you who discharges static with metal frame acting as grounding. Ever saw electronics engineers work on the insides of open computer with wire & clasp connecting their wrist to the chassis? That's to prevent accidental discharge from burning out components.

Hi,
I am still having this problem now, irrespective of whether the XPS is running off batteries or AC. It looks to me that this is a electrical leakage issue. Apart from posing electrical hazards, it could also damage internal components. Just too many problems...
