Synaptics Drivers Not Installing Properly
Updated to windows 8.1 and since yesterday I have been trying to install Synaptic drivers for the touchpad. I've tried both the generic driver from the official site and the driver from the dell site. Although the driver does get installed, I really can't see the synaptic device configuration anywhere. I can't double tap or scroll with the touchpad. The scrolling per se is not smooth. I have to literally drag the pointer everywhere like there's a lot of friction involved.
Could anyone help me figure out this problem?

Hi Mahendru1992,
Dell XPS L501X has not been tested on Windows 8.1.To know more details you can click on the link http://dell.to/1wAxVPb and find the system models that support for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
You could also refer to the link http://dell.to/1nGRpMA to download the Synaptics Driver for a Windows 8 System.
Hope this helps.

Hi Mahendru1992,
Synaptics have not released any specific driver for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 as they come with generic native drivers.
However I would suggest you to install the Synaptics win 7 driver in compatibility mode and check.
Hope this helps.
