Synaptics Touchpad Driver

Hi,

I own a Dell XPS 15 laptop. It's not had a problem in the 4 years that I have had it. I decided that a fresh start would do my laptop some good since I had tons of programs that I wasn't using. So I reset it using the Dell recovery software and when I was updating the drivers I found that I had a newer version of the touchpad driver that didn't work with my laptop.

The fn key combination fn+F3 is supposed to disable the touchpad and I use it a lot and I found that the latest driver I installed from the Dell support site doesn't have this feature. It also doesn't have other gestures I was used to like using the palm of the hand to minimize everything on the screen.

It would be great if someone knew where I could get that since I use these features a lot.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Deepak,

The Dell quickset application needs to be installed for the shortcut Function keys to work. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the Dell Quickset application from Application section onto the system and install it.

Please, let me know if this helps.

Thanks for the really quick response. I'm sorry but I think I should have been clearer.

I have the Dell quickset application. So I know that the function keys work. Only the shortcut to disable the mousepad and enable it aren't working. So I assumed that it was regarding the mousepad driver.

I remember having the Synaptics Driver and not the Dell Touchpad driver. And on the site I can only find the Touchpad driver. So I guess if I find the right version of the driver somewhere it might work.

Thanks again,

Deepak Charles.

Hi Deepak,

I would suggest you to reinstall the Quickset driver and touchpad driver to check if it fixes the issue.
