TB16 Docking station
I have been successfully using a TB16 docking station with an XPS 13 9360 for several months, running two external monitors, and recently bought a second TB16 for a different location. I am now finding that shutting the lid of the laptop, with either TB16, causes a BSOD error VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (igdkmd64.sys). I have updated all of the drivers (and BIOS) and am currently assuming that the error is linked to the recent installation of the Windows Creators update. All working OK before, which suggests there is some incompatibility introduced by the latest Windows update. Anyone else with the same problem or suggestions for a solutions?

Thank you for your message.
The Video_TDR error is normally caused by the graphic driver.
Run a hardware diagnostic by following this link http://bit.ly/2fJuGXB
Does this bluescreen error come up only when you close the lid or does it happen when you restart or shutdown the computer?
Try to change the LID close action in power management & check if the error occurs.
Download the graphic driver from this link http://dell.to/2eMLsF0 & save to your desktop.
Open device manager
Expand Graphic adapter
Right click on the graphic driver & click on uninstall (check the box that says delete driver) (do not restart the computer)
Install the chipset driver from this link http://dell.to/2uvIHxg (do not restart the computer)
Install the graphic driver saved on your desktop screen & then restart the computer.

I followed your instructions and the problem is fixed. Two notes for future reference: In Device Manager the graphics driver is under "Display adaptor" rather than "Graphics adapter", and of more importance, after I clicked to uninstall the graphics driver (with check box ticked to delete the driver as instructed), my screens all went blank and I had to restart to be able to continue. But nonetheless the problem is now fixed and I can close the lid on the XPS 13 and work on the external monitors. Many thanks.

Sadly I spoke too soon. XPS 13 is working fine with the older TB16 which is at my factory, but I still get a BSOD when I close the lid when connected to the recently-purchased TB16 at my home. Now I am really at a loss. Both TB16 are running two external monitors, albeit slightly different models. Any suggestions?

Do you get the same TDR error?
With the new dock connected to your computer, complete all Windows update.
Click on this link http://dell.to/2uWZJD9 to update the controller drivers.
