Temporary Battery Failure, Inspiron 6400

My computer is flashing the Temporary Battery Failure warning.  It is working perfectly fine.  The forum indicates the battery is failing, but mine is working fine.  What problems could I have continuing to use this battery?  Thank you for your help.
