Top Card available
I'm currently using a Mobility Radeon 7500 C (Build 6359) 64 MB graphics card in my Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop computer. I've purchased a game (Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow) which will not run because I do not have required pixel shader support. This really frustrates me so I'm looking to upgrade my card. Could you please suggest the highest quality card that is compatible with my system, and also the "minimum" card I would need to be able to play recent release games (such as Splinter Cell). I've had both the Mobility Radeon X300 card recommended and the Mobility Radeon 9800 recommended as well. What is the difference between the two cards? What is AGP bus type over PCI bus type? Will either of these cards work on my system?

The fastest card you can get for this chassis is the Mobility Radeon 9000, 64M version - and you must get it from Dell.
There are no faster cards for the budget-chassis systems like the 5100.
The 9000 is an AGP card. Although your system has a mini-PCI slot, it cannot be used for a video upgrade.
