Two year old XPS16 1647 harddrive failure - how to get windows

The hdd is goosed on my xps. I can get a new one but how can I get windows again, I don't have it on disk or any kind of back up. I have the product key on the base but that's it. Not happy, lost a lot of stuff, will teach me not to back up, thought the hdd would last longer to be fair. Poor quality for a k laptop

rob1981,

Hard drives can last a long time and sometimes they fail.

If your computer is under warranty, contact Dell Tech Support.

If not, if you live in the United States, Request Backup Disks USA if in another Country, contact Dell Tech Support in your Country.

Be careful buying drives in EBay - refurbished/recertified/used drives are inherently dangerous purchases, and may sellers will ship OEM drives (which carry no manufacturer warranty).
