Upgrade Intel N7260 Wireless to Dual Band - Can it be done?
I have an Inspiron 15R - 5537. It currently has the Intel N7260 b/g/n wireless card. I would like to upgrade this to the N7260 dual band card so I can take advantage of my 5G wireless network. I can get the card no problem, and the swap looks pretty easy, but what else do I need to do as far as drivers, registry in order to make it work?

Hi jdvoigt,
Yes you can upgrade from single band wireless card to dual band. Once installed on the system you may consider reinstalling the drivers for it.

Folks,
I think you can upgrade to Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 because on this link http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=PG3XR, the drivers are available and if you scroll down to "Compatible System" it does mention Inspiron 15R 5537 is compatible.
Correct me if I am wrong.
If one of us could do 'Trial and Error' method to test whether works, it would be helpful and if it works do mention in this forum.
