Upgrading my XPS M1730 worth it?

I have a Dell XPS M1730 with a T9300 CPU, 512mb 8700s 300gb HDD, and 4gb ram. From my research the T9300 is the biggest CPU it can support and so I am considering the following upgrades which I believe will all work? First a 2gb 9800 GTX video card for the system then 8gb ram and a Solid state drive probably a 120gb and use my current 300gb for storage. I just want to play a newer MMO namely Final Fantasy A Realm Reborn and some other older MMOs that work with the current software fine. Do you think these upgrades would be worthwhile? I figure the cost to be around $700 dollars for all the upgrades.

Thanks in advance

Jeremy

You won't get $700 worth of performance out of those upgrades.  You can build a decent gaming desktop for $700-1000 easily and keep the notebook as a travel system -- that makes more economic sense.

I have a very decent desktop I am just considering getting a little more performance out of my laptop and making it last a few more years before completely upgrading. I don't imagine a $700 laptop would equal the performance of the upgrades? I only use the laptip at my friends house or at work really.

If you have the money to spend, but the X9000 is the largest processor that will fit. it is an open processor which starts at 2.8 and can be clocked to 3.4 by the BIOS. I use the Seagate Hybrid drives, but could not RAID0 any larger than 500gb a piece.

Good luck
