Under the keyboard; yes, there's an nVidia 7900GS card - it is, like almost all notebook card, proprietary so you must order it from Dell or a Dell parts reseller.

Cost for the 256M 7900GS is $400.

I chated with a dell tech support agent, he told me that the 256MB Nvidia GeForce GS OC GDDR3 APG Card (price runs $200 less than 7900 gs) is compatible with the E1705 and would be better for my system becasue the 7900 gs requires a little more system performance than i have. Is it true?

My specs:

Intel core 2 duo @ 2.0 GHz
160gb hardrive
2GB Ram @ 533MHz
Current vid card: Ati mobility radoen x1400 hypermemory

Also, I checked dell for the 7900 GS, but i only found the 7900 GT, what is the difference?

Sounds like they looked up a desktop card, which won't fit in the 1705.

There's no option for anything AGP - you have a proprietary PCI Express socket, and the 7900GS is the only card from nVidia ever built for this model system.

I just want to make sure, Is this the 256mb Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 Gs you talking about?

I also see it has a s vidoe port, but on the back of the E1705 there are no s vidoe ports where the graphics card ports are.

If not can you give me a link to it

does it have to be form dell, this looks like it might fit, im not sure if it is a desktop or laptop card though.

Here is the link to the card the tech agent shoed me:

What you've linked is a desktop card. You cannot use a card other than ones for an E1705/Inspiron 9400 notebook, and only Dell sells
them - or a Dell parts reseller.

There is a 7800 card - it's this one: http://www.impactcomputers.com/uf804.html

The 7900GS is likely available only from Dell Spare Parts; I have not see it elsewhere.
