Video not running smooth

1 month old Alienware m17x. Can't watch video in full screen. I can but don't want to it is very choppy.  When it is not in full screen seems to run better. Win 7 is on prior to that I think it ran fine with vista running videos. Updated graphics card driver didn't help at all.
