Vostro 1510: Akku does not charge

Hi,

in Semptember 2008 I bought a Vostro 1510, I am really satisfied, but now the Akku annoys me.

When I plug in the Power supply, the laptop shows me for about 5 Seconds that the Akku is being charged, and than stops charging. BatteryBar tells me then that it's fully loaded, but shows e.g. only 52%. Same does Everest. They also say that the Akku has lost 40% of its capaticity, which is in my opinion too early to die...

Is my Akku just at the end of its life or could it be another problem, e.g. with the loading electronic?
