 Hi sail remedy,

There is a possibility that the Wi-Fi driver is corrupted. I will recommend you to uninstall and re install the wireless driver:

  • Click on 'Start' and right click on 'Computer'.
  • Click on 'Manage' and click on 'Device Manager'.
  • Expand 'Network' and right click on the wireless driver. (Check the name of the driver which will help you re installing the driver)
  • Click on ' uninstall'.
  • Once the driver is uninstalled, click on 'Start' and click on 'Control panel'.
  • Click on 'Programs and features' and look for the application of the wireless card.
  • Right click on it and click on 'uninstall'.
  • Restart the system.
  • Click on the link: http://dell.to/SiJggE
  • Select the operating system.
  • Go to 'Network' and select the driver depending on the wireless card your system has.
  • Click on 'Download Now' and select 'Single file Download'.
  • Click on 'Continue'.
  • Click on 'Save' and save the driver on the desktop.
  • Right click on the driver from the desktop and click on 'Run as administrator'.
  • Install the driver following the on screen instructions.
  • Restart the system and check if the issue is fixed.

If the issue still persists, uninstall and re install 'Quickset':

  • Click on 'Start' and click on 'Control panel'.
  • Click on 'Programs and features' and look for 'Quickset'.
  • Right click on it and click on 'uninstall.
  • Restart the system and click on the link: http://dell.to/WSP7Qv
  • Click on 'Download Now' and select 'Single file Download'.
  • Click on 'Continue'.
  • Click on 'Run' and install it following the on screen instructions.
  • Restart the system and check if the issue is fixed.

Keep me updated. Please reply for any questions.

Thanks for the fast reply,

I removed the driver.

In the 'Programs and features' I did not find a wireless card.

Shut down and rebooted followed the rest of the instructions and the install failed – cannot install on your system. The driver for wifi link 5100

I checked and the driver “Intel® WiFi Link 5100 AGN” was back.

Still no wifi

Thanks again

Hi sail remedy,

Thank you for the quick reply. Would it be possible for you to post a screen shot for 'Device Manager'? If so, expand 'Network adapters' and post the screen shot.

I have added you as a friend. Please accept my friend request by clicking on my name highlighted in blue and then click on “Friends” tab at the top and then click on “Request to Review” and finally click on “Accept” button.

I am sending you a private message as well. Click on “Inbox” to respond to the message and provide system’s Service Tag and contact details so I may access your system records and check for further course of action. You could also click on Start Conversation to send a private message.

Keep me posted. Please reply for any further questions.
