The warranty cost depends on the system model purchased and on the warranty type available for that model. There are different warranty types such as depot warranty, basic warranty, pro support. The prices differ accordingly.

You must still be under warranty to extend it. Expired warranties are not renewable. It is better & cheaper to get extended warranties when you order a new computer. Extending a warranty after purchase is more expensive and not practical IMO.
