When to apply BIOS Update
I am in the process of updadting a number of drives on my Inspiron Laptop. One of those updates is for the BIOS, however when I looked at the order of when certain drives should be applied, there is no mention of when the BIOS should be applied.
Please give me a clue.

The BIOS update is labeled as "optional" and is dated 6/25/2007 version A17. I have never updated the BIOS since I have had my Laptop. So I don't know if I really need it.

It needs to be applied separately. Be sure you need the update - there is always a risk of permanently damaging a system with a BIOS update that goes awry.

Check your current BIOS revision number, and read the changes listed (on the download page) for each of the BIOS's after. If it sounds important, update it. If the changed are related to something you don't use or do, don't update.
