Wifi switch not working?

I have a dell e6220 and was having issues installing windows 7 on it. But now I have windows 7U x64 on it. I noticed that the wifi showed the ethernet symbol with an x, so I downloaded the dell driver I needed and installed it and now it shows the wifi bars with an x? So I troubleshoot it and it sais flip the switch so I did several times with same result to flip the switch? So I downloaded a manule for it and the manule shows 3 connectors to the wlan card and the wwan (wich I dont have) has 2 and sais the wwan are stipped? Wich is funny cause im looking at my computer and the wlan has 2 1 white1 black. And the wwan has 3, 2 white and 1 black not stripped. Do I need a wwan chip? Should my wlan not be in the left slot? I dont know what to do? Ive worked on so many laptops and never ran into this problem lol.
