Will a Latitude E5470 fit a 9.5mm 2.5" HDD?
I want to upgrade my drive to a hybrid TB drive but I can only find those in 9.5mm width. Will that fit my laptop?
I can't find a straight answer in the support docs.

That chassis will take a 9.5 mm drive -- the higher line 74xx models are slimmer and are 7 mm only.

Thanks!
If the laptop was shipped with a 256GB SSSSD would a regular 2.5" 9.5mm drive be an easy replacement? Will I need any adapters?

I know, but our workflow requires a bigger hard drive and we don't have the bigger bucks to get an SSD that big.
To compensate, we are going to upgrade to 16 gigs of RAM.

It's a drop in replacement for a 2.5" SSD - that said, you're going to lose an order of magnitude in performance by downgrading from a native SSD to a hybrid spinning drive.

You may want to consider an external drive for whatever files you need to store. The added RAM won't make up for the huge hit in read/write throughput to the drive -- I've recently been using a system with an OS on both an SSD and a hard drive -- when booted from the hard drive, the performance of the system is turned back 10 years.

I just tried to install a WD10JFCX 1 TB drive that's 9.5mm thick. It's too thick. Base cover won't close correctly. The Samsung 850 Pro that was in there (7mm thick) fit fine.
