Windows 8.1 advantages of disadvantages

Hello to everyone.

Im having windows 8 with my laptop. And its a dell inspiron 15r special edition. 

processor :core i5 3rd gen

Ram:6GB

Do you think that i can install windows 8.1  ?

What are the downsides of windows 8.1 ??

If something happens after updating to 8.1 can i rollback to windows 8 ?? i have the recovery disks for my windows 8
