Windows 8 on my Dell Ispiron mini 10 netbook (1011)

Hi! I have a Dell Ispiron mini 10 netbook (1011) in which i installed Windows 8. It's working super cool and fast but with the resolution of 1024Χ600 which my netbook has, I cannot open apps due to Metro UI of Windows 8 that needs at least 1024Χ768.

There is a hack available to trick windows 8 and make them think you have resolution 1024X768, but it doesn't work on my Dell machine.

Although i tried the same hack on my other Sony netbook and worked fine, on my Dell machine it crashes and reboots.

Then I get a message saying "invalid extended processor state".

Is there another solution? It's a pity not to have the ability to install Windows 8 on my Dell netbook. What can i do?

Thanks!

Hi simosmme,

I am afraid that in Dell mini laptop the maximum resolution is 1024x600, so it is not possible to run any app from the new user interface of window 8.

well ok, so we should search for an answer beyond the "official" answers so as to have the same effect as in the Sony netbook (to be able to run Windows 8).

I know that every OS lets some machines unsupported but if we can do the trick with the Sony netbook (that has also 1024x600) we want to do it for the Dell too to keep using it.
