XP Media Center Drivers
Dell Inspiron E1705
Dual Core 32bit
GeForce 7800 Video
XP Media Center
I bought it so I could have the 90watt Power Supply $30. Don't need the power supply so I decided to play w/XP. It had fresh install of Media Center 2005 but not wifi, network, audio, video, etc drivers. Where to get them. Could not find the official Dell driver disk online. Saw some, but were not the the blue and white ones Dell produced.
Which Open CD will work with XP?
Will probably use off the net only but if I did what protection do I need?

All of the drivers are available below. Start with the chipset and system software drivers - then reboot and install the others

What do you mean by OpenCD?
There is no way to secure XP online any longer - it hasn't seen any security updates in almost two years.

Open CD is a CD that has open source applications that work on windows. For example, PDF viewer, Open Office, GIMP which does about 99.999% of what Adobe Photoshop can do in a professional manner.
Is it possible to download the XP updates that were available? Where?
Just found article "Still running Windows XP? Antivirus products put to the test" July 2014. Well that is a little dated. Allowable to post the link here?

You can still Download OpenCD. I just did. Like XP it is oudated, so may be a good match.
OpenDisc http://www.theopendisc.com/
Guess it will bea stand alone for running legacy software.

OpenCD is no longer under development.

Updates can still be obtained - at least those that were released before support ended.

As for 2014 antivirus comparisons -- well, they're three years out of date -- and no antivirus can secure a fundamentally insecure, unpatched OS at this point.

I have some of the drivers installed. Ethernet Controller, Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus, and SM Bus Controller appear in the Device Manager with the yellow question mark before them.
Wireless does work
What are the others for? How do I determine which drivers at the downloads are for those devices?

Direct Download links to the drivers are here. You should install the drivers in the following order (unfortunately not the order they are listed) Dell System Software, then the Intel Chipset Installation Utility, Chipset Drivers, Modem, Network Drivers, Video, Audio and then Dell Quicket (application):
