XPS 15 L502X Keyboard
Hi
I need to replace the keyboard on my XPS 15 L502X, but I'm having trouble finding a replacement UK keyboard, as my existing keyboard isn't backlit, and all the replacements seem to be backlit.
Is it possible to use a backlit replacement keyboard even if there's no connection for it? Or is this a bad idea?

It is possible, and there should be a connector for the backlight on this model.

Hi
Thanks so much for your answer.
I thought there should be a connector for the backlight too, but the problem is the Chassis Bracket covers the place where the connection should be, as my laptop wasn't shipped with the backlit keyboard.
I considered changing the Chassis Bracket as well, but fortunately I've now managed to find a non-backlit replacement keyboard - I searched for Inspiron and Vostro spares instead, and found quite a few, as apparently the Dell 4341X keyboard was also used for the Vostro 1440, 1540, 1550, 3350, 3450, 3550, 3555, V131; Inspiron 15 N5040, M5040, N5050; in addition to the XPS 15 L502X, so that was lucky.
Anyway thanks again for taking the time to answer.
Janie :-)
