XPS 1640 will not hibernate
Laptop worked fine until about a week ago. Now it will not hibernate on power supply or battery. I have set the time to hibernate at 30 minutes on battery and it will run it down until his hibernates at reserve. How do it address this?

Windows 7 operating system. By the way, the fan runs all the time now also. I can force sleep or hibernate from the start menu but cannot achieve with time settings or the sleep button.
