XPS L702X Win7 HomePremium SP1 Touchpad annoying!!!

When I type, sometimes my palm accidentally touches the touchpad and it moves my cursor into another spot.

Its very annoying especially when I am rapidly typing a document.

Is there a way to make it less sensitive or make only the center sensitive to touch or do I need to turn it off and carry a mouse with me?

This also happens at the login screen.. very annoying to see the mouse cursor moving around while I type my password.
