XPS M1210 Processor Upgrade ??
Ladies and Gentleman,
As the title says, I have an XPS M1210 I have been using for a little over a year now. Over all, I would say I have been satisfied with the machine, but I would like to upgrade the processor. Currently I am running an Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 @ 1.83 GHz. I have done some research online and found conflicting statements about this. Which processors would be compatible? This is the processor I wanted to go with:

but after doing some reading online I have some concerns about comability issues. Will it work? Does anyone have any suggested reading on how to make sure the processor will be compatible? Thank you for all your help.
Billy

Yes: T7200, T7400, T7600 (socket M).
No: Socket P. These include: T7x00 with x=odd or above 6, T8x00, T9x00, X9x00.

Ok. So if I understand you correctly ejn, this processor would work. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819111301
One thing confuses me about your post though. You said that T7700 would work, but then on the next line you say that T7X00 will not work if X is odd or above six. So will the T7700 work? Thank you so much for your help.

Yes, the T7400 will work.
Corrected - I wote T7x00 unless x is odd or above 6 - i.e., NOT the T7100, T7300, T7500, or anything over the T7600 - T7700, T7800, etc. I did put T7700 but meant T7600. No, the T7700 is a socket P CPU and won't work. The absolute fastest one your system will take is the T7600.
