XPS M170

Hi, Does anyone know if i can replace my xps m170 motherboard with one from a xps m1710,I want to upgrade to a core 2 duo processor and 4 gigs of ram,Thanks.

You'd have to replace the bottom half of the computer - i.e., mainboard and chassis plastics.  You can reuse your keyboard but you'll also need a new hard drive (the M170 uses the older EIDE type;  the M1710, the newer SATA).  The optical drives will interchange.

can i still use the m170 video card?

They should interchange, yes.  That said, this is going to be an expensive upgrade - and at best you might get 90-day warranties on the parts.
