XPS15 9550 extended warranty not showing up [SORTED]

Update - 9th March'17 - This is now sorted. And my warranty has been updated on my Dell account.

My warranty has been updated thanks to the helpful team on Dell's FB page.
It took sometime for Dell to figure out a solution as the Dell showroom who sold me the extended warranty had closed down and the store manager had not updated their records of my Warranty purchase. I did have the Invoice for this purchase as well which helped showcase that my request was genuine. And mistake was on Dell showroom's part.

(The retailer from whom I bought the laptop "The Challenger" have been of great help as well.
They provided me with all their purchase details, which Dell wanted from me)

-------------------------------------------------

Hi,

1) I had purchased a Dell XPS 15 (9550) in Singapore on 19th March 2016
from 'The Challenger' Funan Mall.

And bought an extended warranty of 2 years (1+2) on the same day from

Dell Global B.V. (Singapore Branch)

Funan Digital Life Mall

Dell Direct Store Funan

109 North Bridge Road #30-26

Singapore 179097

2) I bought the laptop on 19th March'16

But the warranty on Dell>My Account shows start from 13th March'16

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for writing to us!

When you purchased the extended warranty you would have had an order number.

Kindly private message the order number, service tag and email address.

Thanks

Robin

Hi,

I was not given a order number. I was just given a Invoice with Dell Global B.V. seal

If the system was purchased at retail, you may have purchased the warranty through the retailer rather than through Dell - if so, the warranty is with the retailer, not Dell.

Your invoice (or your retailer) will have the details.

But this was a authorized exclusive Dell store, not a store like best buy.

Does not matter.  You need to find out from them what you bought.  Anything purchased other than direct from Dell likely has an extended warranty from the store -- not Dell.

Hi,

I purchased the warranty from a authorized Dell store.

Store address mentioned above.

That doesn't mean the warranty is through Dell -- just as in the US, if you purchase a Dell at retail through a big chain like Best Buy, the warranty is through the retailer, not Dell.  You need to confirm with the retailer exactly what you purchased.

The profit margin on extended warranties is significant for retailers -- that's why they push so hard for them at purchase time.  They make little or nothing on selling the hardware but can make huge profits on warranties.

@ejn63

You may now realize that my case was different than what you assumed it was.

I have managed to get my warranty sorted with Dell's FB teams help.

(Like I tried to explain to you before : My warranty was bought from Dell, not the retailer. Hence it is now sorted)

But thanks for your time.

Cheers
