authentication password for dell vostro 1015
So I just got this laptop, Dell Vostro 1015 from a freind of me. Right when I get past the dell loading screen it asks for an authentication password. It won't let me access the laptop at all.Even my freind dosn't know it. Please help.

If your friend can't supply it, he/she will need to transfer ownership to you so you can contact Dell for the master password. The cost of the call will be $50-60 once the transfer is complete.

hi, not sure if you solved your password problem.
here is how i solved mine, i bought my dell vostro 1015 from a second hand shop. they had the password to continue booting into win7.
1-problem solved
2-this allowed me into the bios
3- i then wouldnt allow me to make changes
4- i bought the unlock from ebay
5- when you get the code to unlock . there is 3 boxes for passwords 1 to enter password, 2, to confirm 3 to change
i entered password in box 1 only,then pressed enter this then unlocks the password boxes.then click unset. sorted
