dell inspiron 1545
having trouble with my webcam went to device manager and it said it was fine but when i try to use for skype it says i might need to close any other programs using webcam. i cant find any others using it. i have vista if that helps also tryed uninstall then reinstall. i travell alot and miss seeing kids so any help would be appriciated

Welcome to the Community,
Does the Webcam work with Webcam Central or any other Video chat application,apart from Skype?
If yes and if the system has Fast Access installed,open the Video settings for Skype and check if you see a Select Webcam option with a drop down.In the drop down if you see two options 1>FA Virtual Cam 2> Integrated Webcam,select Integrated Webcam,click Save.
Reopen Skype and see if that helps.
