dell latitude e5530 wifi and webcam missing
Hello!
I recently bought a laptop mentioned in the topic. After i downloaded all drivers from dell website i did not succeeded with installation of two things:
1) wireless entwork card: driver told that there are no compatible devices in the notebook
2) integrated webcam, no installs were provided
I would like to ask for help. I checked the laptop and it has the wifi card phisycally. In device manager of Windows 7 there is a network controller device, wich by device identifiers seems to be the exact network card wich i found in the notebook phisically.
Regards,
kraszi

Well the network card installation is solved by installing the manufacturer driver from the following link:
downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx
Basicly it is the same as the one provided by Dell but it works fine.

kraszi,
Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system? If yes, did you install the drivers in the correct order? How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
Windows 7/8 is supposed to provide the webcam drivers for most Dell computers. If you system needs webcam drivers, go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag, then select your operating system. If your system needs webcam drivers, they'll be listed under Input.
Try reading...
Troubleshooting the Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software
You can try this file, also known as Dell Webcam Central.
Create a new unrestricted user account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?
If yes, log out and log back in to your account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?
If no, then the webcam became detached from the motherboard, usually near the webcam
If your computer is under warranty, contact Dell Tech Support

Hi Rick,
thank you for your answer!
Yes i did download and install all the drivers in the correct order as described on dells site.
There is no driver for webcam, only firmware. However i found that the camera is recognized, only no program recognizes it as a webcam. I downloaded an open source program for image recognition where i could set it as source and it works fine as camera.
I am trying the webcam software wich is found on your link.

Well, the webcam center works fine. Sadly however no other software (like skype) recognizes the camera as a video input.

kraszi,
If you open Skype, click on tools, options, video settings, do you have a drop down menu?

Hi!
There is no such dropdown list. The dell webcam center still works.
Thanks!

Krazi,
Start, control panel, programs and features, skype, uninstall.
Restart your computer.
Download this version of Skype then install it.
What happens?

kraszi,
Open Dell Webcam Central.
Click on the settings.
Change the size to 640 x 480
Also make sure the setting at the bottom is on capture mode
Then try Skype.

Rick,
Thanky You for your help!
the solution was to install Skype 3.6.0.248. It sees the camera and works fine.
It was not a problem of the camera.

kraszi
