e7350 no sleep

Ok so i tell my e7350 to go to sleep.  Wait about ten minutes and open the lid.  it is still running and has for the last ten minutes. If i set the power settings to go to sleep in say ten minutes nothing either.  How do you make this thing go to sleep?
