hard drive replacement

I am replacing the hard drive on my Inspiron 15 laptop and wanted to know how I can download the drivers and programs. There were no disks included with the computer.

Hi ssmithinspiron,

You can download the drivers for your computer from support website by following the steps below:

  • Click on the below link: http://dell.to/QjjZDA
  • Enter the Service Tag of your system and select the operating system.
  • Select the category and drivers available.
  • Click on “Download File”.
  • Select “For Single File Download via Browser”.
  • Click on “Download Now”.
  • Save the driver on your desktop.
  • Once the driver is downloaded on the desktop, right click on it and select “Run as administrator”.
  • Follow the prompts on screen and restart your computer.

Once the drivers are downloaded, you can save them in any USB storage device and then install on the Inspiron 15. You can also check the link: http://dell.to/12Y290G to know the driver installation in correct order.

Please reply for further clarifications.

Try this site IF the current HD is working.

Also run Belarc Advisor to get a copy of your system including all SW product keys.
