help on latitue computer bought about 3 months ago from craigs lists its 8 yrs old need blue screen of death help
Hi I bought a laptop compture from a person on craigs list, he dindnt know much about it and stated it worked, well for $80.00 i bought it. anyway i put on what i needed, which was i tunes, lime wire which is an off take of i tunes except you dont have to pay for the songs, i put on avast, i put on malwarebytes and run malwarebytes quite often about 2 times a week thinking that avast will find anything else. well as i was running today the 31st of Aug. malware, it started to show up right away 42 problems, but then it quit dead in its tracks. it wouldnt let me finish it so i stopped it and let it erase what ever it did find thus far, well as i turned it back on to try and finish it i got the dreaded blue screen, i cannot use last known configuration. nor can i use any of the safe mode methods it gave me all turned out to be blue screen, I am stumped i am using my moms comp. so what can i do?
this is what the stop mess. said STOP 0x0000007B (0xEgE49528, 0x0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 any help would be great, i use this for my medical classes i take please replay as soon as posible. thank you. like i said i tried safe mode so i cannot run hijack this at all thanks its about 8 ys old and that is all i know about it it also has windows xp

Start with an extended hard drive diagnostic - F12 at powerup. Run the extended test - will take about 2 hours or so.
If the drive fails, replace it and reload Windows.
If the drive passes, likewise -- reload Windows.

well if i have to redo the whole windows no matter if i F-12 or not then why bother running the test? cuz you say either way i have to redo windows xp so why do a 2 hr test? well thanks anyway i hope this answer came frome a dell coputer specialist!!!:emotion-10:

if you get into safe mode, go to windows reged and export your reg file to usb or install to harddrive folder away from windows, then get a dell window disk ( you dont have to put in serial and reinstall

You missed a small detail about replacing the disk in the first scenario :emotion-5:
