bbretz,

From what I could find on Hydravision it sounds like it only works with the Appian cards.
I am in no way an expert on Appian products.
Click Here to see what I found on Hydravision.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for choosing Dell.

Hi folks,

that's what drove me to ask DELL directly ... we'll see ;-)! On ATi's pages ( http://www.ati.com/companyinfo/glossary/hydravision/index.html) they claim to support multi monitor using ATi Mobility Radeon. Well, ATi said so (on the Mobility product page), but Hydravision does not name the Mobility as supported.
Anyhow, did not manage to convince Hydravision to accept the connected CRT as a second monitor.

You can download the Hydravision at http://www.ati.com/support/products/pc/radeon7000/win2k/radeon7000win2kdrivers.html.

If anyone manage to use that, I am thankfull for any hint ...

Regards

I use dual displays on Dell D600 Latitudes all the time, with hydravision.
I have occaisional spastic problems but usually get two displays working independently by using DVI from the DVI port of the docking station (Port Replicator?) (Plugs into the bottom of the laptop, unlike other Latitudes I've used with a plug on the rear.)

So far I have only used DVI-D on the DVI port, and analog RGP on the 15-pin port (SXGA or even 1600x1200 woirks well on both ports). Since DVI is used, I'm using at least one flat panel all the time in addition to the internal display or a second flat panel running in RGB mode (non-DVI, on the 15 pin output of the port replicator.

This is under Win2000 and (so far) is repeatable, but with some variance in satisfaction. I've had the best luck with a laptop which had been in use for a long time before trying the dual monitor use. I just added Hydravision...
