HI,
i'm italian, the problem is that when i try to install a software that run only with 64bit cpu, the system answer is : your CPU not supported 64-bit architectures about.
But from cpu-z i look that the istruction supported are MMX , SSE (1,2,3,3S) and EM64T of the my cpu T5670.
On my biosi don't find option for enable virtualization or 64bit architecrures about...
Why does this happen?
Thanks a lot,
Daniel

Yes, the CPU is replaceable.

All Core 2 Duo CPUs support EM64T (64-bit operation). Your operating system may be 32-bit - in which case you'd have to reload a 64-bit version.
If it's VT (virtualization) support you need, you WILL need to upgrade the CPU - the one you have does not support it.

Probably not - the user manual should list the CPU s shipped with the system, though.

The T8100 was shipped with that model and will work. The faster ones might or might not; the Extreme Editions were never shipped in these, and are not worth what they'd cost anyway.

i found the supported cpu from chipset intel gm965 mobile :
Core 2 Duo
T8100 (2.10 GHz, 3M Cache)
T8300 (2.40 GHz, 3M Cache)
T9300 (2.50 GHz, 6M Cache)
T9500 (2.60 GHz, 6M Cache)
Core 2 Extreme
X7800 (2.60 GHz, 4M Cache)
X7900 (2.80 GHz, 4M Cache)
