inspiron 6000 flashes trouble code?

I have an inspiron 6000 that when I first plug in the batt light flashes one green, 5 amber, another green, 4 amber, another green, 3 amber, one more green and then all the lights go out.  If I try to boot it runs for 2 or seconds and then cuts out.   Any ideas?
