Hi Alcommm,

Dell Inspiron N4030 supports only DDR3 1333 MHZ memory.

Hence the old 2GB Memory is being supported because its a DDR3 1333 MHZ memory.

I would suggest you have a DDR3 1333 MHZ memory installed on the system.

Hope this helps.

Hi Alcommm,

I would suggest that you follow the steps mentioned below and check if the system switches ON.

  1. Switch off the computer.
  2. Disconnect the AC adapter from the system.
  3. Remove the battery from the computer.
  4. Press and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Then connect back all the peripherals and check if you are able to switch ON the syste

Then try installing the memory in one slot at a time and check if the issue with any particular memory slot. Also try using a different memory stick and check as this will help us isolate the issue if its with the memory or the memory stick.

Let us know your findings.

I tried all steps and got a blue screen error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

STOP:0X0000000A

my old 2GB ram works fine in both slots

the original module is DDR3-10600

Thanks,
