m1710 slows down when fan spins up?

Hi all,

I have owned a m1710 since November and I have always thought that the computer gets very hot after some time running. Now since last couple of weeks my computer slows down and is very slow when the fan spins up (high) and it stays slow even after rebooting sometimes. Any suggestions?
