media buttons

i have a inspiron 6000, and when i push the media buttons on the front of the laptop. my pc stops responding.

i can still move the mouse, but i can't click on anything. i have to reboot to get it to start responding again.

anyone else have this problem?

I am having the same problem -- I am wondering if the latest MS Windwos XP updates messed something up. Also I noticed I now have a small popup window that mentions my personal settings and "win32h.exe s"

Any ideas?

I have virus and malware scanned my machine as well.

I just got this problem (I havee a Inspiron E1705). I cant press any of the buttons without the computer just stoping.

I've got the same problem, when I emailed Dell they recommended reinstalling both media direct and some other set of drivers, which of course did nothing...the third option presented to me in the email was to replace the motherboard, I'm hoping they're wrong about that though, for now i just have to remind myself not to touch those buttons, but I'm anxious to find out if anyone gets any more news on this problem...
