I had problems recently with the laptop starting up and ran a repair now all I get is this message.

Anyone any ideas how I can fix the laptop?

Any help is greatly appreciated, I know its an old laptop but I can not afford to purchase a new one.

Hello,

I assume you mean you ran a repair on Windows?  Did you try to reseat the memory chips and see if that helped at all?  Or, if you have multiple memory chips, try taking one out at a time (and testing each chip separately in each slot) to see if that resolves the error message?

Here is a link to the XPS 1530 service manual online, which you can use to see how to remove and reseat the memory in your laptop.  Hopefully the issue is simply a chip that has slipped out of it's connection but it could be that one has failed.

Let us know if reseating the memory helps or not and we'll see if we can find other suggestions to help you if needed.
