no sound from speakers
I have lost sound from my laptop. I have try to download update sound driver with no result. The speaker icon show sound are generating by my pc when I am watching youtube but no sound comming out . I play a cd in the dvd player but no sound either. Have try many suggestion including restore but still no sound. Help

Hi trangdent,
This could be a hardware or a software related issue. Please perform the below mentioned steps to isolate further:
Run the Windows Audio Playback Diagnose and Repair tool using the below mentioned MS Fix-it link:
support.microsoft.com/.../AudioPlayback
If the issue persists, connect external speakers or headphones to the laptop and check if you get any sound.
Perform a System Restore if any software changes have been made. This will revert the changes to a previous date when the system was working fine. Steps to perform system restore:

Run a custom scan on the sound card using PC check up from Dell Support Center. If you need to install Dell support center, please use this link:
