no sound out of built in speakers 6430u

Please Help,

I was using the headphone jack to plug into the back of the television for sound for playing videos.  When I unplugged the jack from the computer the built in speakers stopped working.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the audio drivers.

rebooted mulitple times

shutdown device and took off the battery

all the settings are at default

It appears to be working but nothing  is coming out.

I am using a Dell ultrabook 6430u.

Any thoughts on what I should try next. The laptop has never been dropped and came out of the box new less than a month ago.

Thank you for any support on this issue as I travel and rely on the speakers for conferencing.

Hi Chris,

I understand that inbuilt speakers stopped working after you unplugged the audio cable. We truly regret the inconvenience that has been caused to you.

It seems to be an issue with the jack sense pin on the system. You can check this article below which would be helpful in resolving this issue:

Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.

I have followed the steps and it looks like I am having a pin issue. My computer is 2 months old.  How do I get this fixed?
