radeon xpress1270 XP driver
Has anyone found an XP driver for the ATI Radeon Xpress1270 that is in the new Inspiron 1521. And if so where did you find it.
Thanks

Tried the driver in the above link too, but it didn't work.
I'm in a similar situation.
I bought an Inspiron 1721 with Vista Basic.
Vista was infernally slow. I installed XP which turned out to be a LOT faster on this machine.
(I don't regret that at all. Sometime soon, I'll try installing Ubuntu on the other partition I created.)
Issues are as follows:
Issue 1: Driver for ATI Radeon Xpress1270 not found for XP
Drivers available on Dell's site (that I've seen) work for Vista.
I have yet to find one for Windows XP. I went to ATI's (AMD now) site, and used their Catalyst Suite Drivers.
That didn't work. If you have alternate solutions, please do propose them.
My screen resolution is currently really low - a shame considering that this
machine's specs were selected specifically to give decent graphics.
Issue 2: SigmaTel Audio drivers - (aka Integrated Audio 2.0 driver) are not working
I have used a list of the SigmaTel STAC 92XX drivers. Just do a keyword search
(search box is available at the top right corner of support.dell.com site) for STAC 92XX.
You'll end up with a list of drivers. I haven't tried all of them yet. Perhaps about 6 or 7.
If you have a suggestion short of trying all of them, I'd appreciate the time saver.
I still am not sure what all other devices on my computer aren't functioning as they are supposed to.
I'll test them out over the rest of this week.
Please reply if you have found or find solutions to the above issues.
I'd appreciate any help any one can provide
Mighty Thanks for reading.
