replacing cd-r/dvd drive with dvd-r drive
i have an inspiron 8600 laptop with a cd-r/dvd drive. i would like to replace it with a drive that will write dvd's. is one such available for this machine?

You'd be best advised to double-check with Dell tech support (online chat) - if possible, but... assuming the 8600 has a standardised optical drive bay... I would think any laptop/half-height optical drive would be suitable?
Dell no doubt sell suitable products in their 'Accessories' section, and I can understand why some folks prefer to order directly from Dell (primarily to try and ensure compatibility)... but you can often find the same (or better) hardware cheaper elsewhere :emotion-55:
