Go to: http://www.filehippo.com/
Download and run
Ccleaner and Malewarbytes, these programs should clean your PC up. First one cleans up the Reg. and the 2nd checks for any spyware. You can also download this program http://www.filehippo.com/download_defraggler/ to defrag your PC, works way better than the Windows defragger.

There are several methods you can use so speed you your machine if you go to this microsoft website http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/getstarted/speed.mspx (works with vista aswell)
You can also unistall programs to free up space on the hard drive and free up memory. These solutions should help speed up things.
