slow startup and slow overall performance

Hi,

I keep removing temporary files and temporary internet files but my laptop still gives a slow start and 

takes a lot of time to respond on every click.

Iam new to community forms , please help.

Mine is inspiron 1525 with t5750 @ 2.0 ghz , 3 gb ram 250 gb hhd.
