Bear 8600 motherboard

If you have a properly functioning inspiron 8600 motherboard, with nothing connected to it, and plug in the ac adapter, the green light should not turn off, correct?

However, if it is not functioning, the light on the ac adapter will turn off?


My second 8600 motherboard worked like this before something happened to it. When it was bear, and I plugged in the ac adapter into it, the light would still stay on.

Now, I just got my 4th one in the mail today, and when I plug in the ac adapter, the light shuts off. So can I assume that it is not functioning?
