Cooling Fan Not Operating
I have a Studio XPS 1647 laptop and my cooling fan seems to have stopped working as the sides of the laptop get quite hot and there's no fan noise. Is there anything I can do as far as diagnosing the problem? Thanks!

The Dell diagnostics (F12 at powerup) will verify the operation of the fan(s).

Setup is F2. You want F12, which will take you to the diagnostics.

I entered setup with F12 and didn't see any mention of the fan. Where should I look? Thanks.

I found diagnostics, a really nice utility. The fan passed all tests. I have a Belkin USB fan and mount which I will put under the laptop and hope the heat will be reduced. Thanks for your help! Irish.
