Dell Inspiron 15 7537 - Problems AFTER Win 10 installed --- Battery draining to 0% After Shutdown and Computer does not wake up from Sleep

My laptop's battery was working perfectly with 8.1 and laptop was turning on after I put it to SLEEP.

After upgrade to Win 10, I started to encounter problems with battery drain and my laptop would not wake up after SLEEP.  I would have to HOLD the POWER button down and the computer would RESTART.

After charging my computer fully I would SHUT DOWN, and then 8 hours later the computer would not turn on (battery at 0% or 1%).

When I would put the laptop to sleep, my laptop would not wake up after clicking the power button.  I would need to hold the power button for the computer to RESTART.

I have seen suggestions from the community but I really would like to receive a response from a DELL representative so that I do not make any mistakes.

Please let me know what should be done to fix this problem which forces me to carry my power cord with me everywhere.

So far, the following has been working for the past several days...... I have not experienced power drain or laptop not waking up.

*******Well It is because of bad Intel Management Engine Driver if yours is uprgarded to v11 something you don't need to downgrade, just go to device manager->System Devices-> Intel Management Interface->Properties->Power Management and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power and try testing now hopefully it will work.*******

I am having exactly the same issue.  Were you able to find a solution?

I share with you the same problem with my Del 7537 after the Windows 10 upgrade. It seems that Dell has some kind of problems with this laptop. We shall wait for a Dell person to reply.

I was having the same problem too.
I have found a fix

Do not update the INTEL MANAGEMENT ENGINE DRIVER, If updated to " Chipset_Driver_K5DJD_WN32_11.0.0.1153_A00 " kindly revert back to previous version of this driver.
the 10.00 version of the driver.

That's it you have no more power drains, let me know the results.

I have confirmed that this is a problem related to the intel management driver as suggested by aravindh1002003.  Here are the steps for Windows 10.

1.  Right Click the windows start button and select Programs and Features.  Uninstall the Intel management utility.

2.  Right Click the windows start button and select Device Manager.  Uninstall the intel management engine interface device under system devices.

3.  Reboot the computer.

After the computer comes back online check the device manager and make sure that the intel management engine interface was detected and re-installed after the reboot.  If you see an unknown device, right click it and select update driver.  Windows should download the driver from Microsoft and you should be good to go.   If you don't see the intel management engine interface device listed under system devices, and no unknown devices: click the action menu at the top of the window and select scan for hardware changes. Then you can right click and select update driver software.

Joeshell20,

I'm confused.  I noticed that you verified the answer suggested by "aravindh1002003".

It now seems that you are suggesting different steps to resolve the problem.

Did you also encounter the same problems with battery drain after shutting down your computer after it was fully charged  and your computer not waking up from sleep ?

Joeshell20 --- do you work with Dell ?  If you were encountering the same problems I was, did you resolve your problems by following "aravindh1002003's suggestion" or after doing the steps within your post ?

Please advise since I'm possibly ready to move forward with your suggestion.

I just want to be certain that I'm taking the correct steps to fix this problem.

Thanks

I confirmed that the problem is with the intel management interface driver.  When I followed the instructions from aravindh1002003, I still had the problem.  I resolved the problem, by following the steps that I have posted.  No I don't work for Dell, but I hold numerous industry certifications and have ten years experience in computer support.

We both are trying to say the same thing, but to achieve it in a different way.

The problem is in the Intel management engine driver version 11 supplied by Dell, so the best solution is to replace the faulty driver

Follow joeshell20 steps to uninstall the faulty driver and let the windows get the driver by it's own. just stick to the steps said by joeshell20, you'll be able to resolve the power draining to 0% in shutdown or sleep in your inspiron 7537

There is a easy fix that I found accidentally.

The culprit is your Rapid storage driver that is causing your drive to work background,

Update or repair your Rapid storage driver from the link from Dell, Problem solved

TRY THIS FIRST b4 downgrading Intel management driver

Aravindh & Joeshell,

I appreciate all your help with my issue I've encountered.  I have been doing plenty of research and tried something last night which may have worked but I wanted to share it with you to see what you think or if you think it is not the BEST option.

Did the following from a post from another website:

Well It is because of bad Intel Management Engine Driver if yours is uprgarded to v11 something you don't need to downgrade, just go to device manager->System Devices-> Intel Management Interface->Properties->Power Management and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power and try testing now hopefully it will work.

Aravindh ---- Question for you pertaining to the new suggestion from this post.  I was not able to find "Rapid Storage Driver".  Where is it located within Device Manager ?

Again............THANKS to both you and Joeshell...........TRULY appreciate your help :) and will let you know how my computer is doing.

Dear, i had the same problem.

Until now there are two things you can do.

1) Enter Bios Settings (by pressing F2 while booting) and disable Intel Management Engine.

OR

2) Uninstall the latest driver for Intel Management Engine Interface Driver and install this (oldest) driver (Version 9.5.14.1724, A00) : http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=5D6PT&fileId=3488769613&osCode=WB64A&productCode=inspiron-17-7737&languageCode=EN&categoryId=CS

(i choose the 2nd option).

The problem was solved installing this (previous) version of Intel Management Engine Interface Driver. My laptop (Dell 7737 i7) is working perfect now!

Hope that i helped you my friend.
