Dell Latitude E4310 Vertical Blue Line

Hi all...

I have a Latitude e4310, and the display is having a weird time. There is a thin vertical line down the display near the center. Is it a problem with the display cable, or is it a problem with the display itself? I really would like to know soon because I use this device a lot and it is my secondary machine.

Attach an external monitor.  If the line shows there, it's a video chip fault (replacement mainboard required).

If it does not, it's a faulty display panel (replacement display panel required).

This is not a faulty display cable, though.

Some time this problem arises due to the faulty RAM or it has carbon dust on its chip . simply Put out your ram and clean its chip which goes in slot or try another RAM . I the problem does not resolve then try to replace your bios ,may be your boot image is corrupt .

I have noticed that it does not show in the windows in Windows and Ubuntu. It also shows during post and in the BIOS.

I took out the ram and cleaned it out. I had changed the wireless card the day before, so I put the old one back in. I also updated the bios from a11 to a14. The band is still there. By not showing in the window, I meant that it does not show in the white part of a webpage or anything like that. If I go into the bios config, it is not there also because it is primarily white. Here is a picture to show what it looks like in bootup. It is only one pixel wide.

it seems that either your wire strip that is attached to the lcd board is not properly attached or either one of it is damaged ............hope so

I have taken out the RAM and cleaned the pins with alcohol and made sure that there is not debris on the RAM chip. I have also upgraded the bios from A11 to A14 for this model of the laptop, and the line is still here... I was wondering where I could get a new display and display cable. If there is any source that you have found, please link them.

Thanks...
